Rose Flower

Who would not love and admire a well kept garden with all the vibrant presentation of flowers? Perhaps one of the best known and most loved garden flowers is the rose which came from over 1,000 different kinds. Roses are shrubs with woody stems that can grow up to 15 feet or 4.5 meters.

Rose flowers can be classified into three main classes – bush roses which includes modern kinds of hybrid teas; shrub roses which includes several groups of wild species; climbing roses which includes ramblers, trailing and everblooming rose. Bush roses are planted in garden beds. Shrub roses have different bud colors except blue and black and this kind also has smaller flowers. Climbing roses are made to cling to fences, arches or trees. They have strong thorns that allow it to hold on to the supporting arch. From each classification, there are a lot of kinds of roses. The most common are grandifloras, a hybrid rose that is a result of hybrid teas and floribundas’ cross pollination. Miniature roses have very small flowers that are best used for landscaping. Another kind is the hybrid perpetuals which have large flowers that can survive during colder seasons. On the other hand, old fashioned roses are widely used in colonial gardens because of its fragrance.

There are numerous kinds of roses which differ from the roots up to the tip but what is important is how we take care of them. Because no matter how beautiful they are, roses will still need to be taken care of so that they will continue to color our world.

These species are mostly spiky shrubs, trailing plants and climbers that can grow at the minimum of 2 meters.

A rose's fragrance can be enhanced by mashing the petals. Its hips are edible and can also be used as oil that can be used to moisturize the skin. The leaves of a rose can grow from 5 up to 15 centimeters and have serrated margin that allows the production of food very simple. Did you know that a rose has fruits that are berry like structure?

Despite a rose's beautiful facade, it has strong thorns that can be very dangerous. These thorns originate from nodes of the stem that can outgrowth the outer layer of the flower tissue. There are several rose classifications. Wild roses include rose hybrids that have a wide variety of species. Another are old garden roses that are further classified into groups like Alba which only blossoms once a year, Gallica roses which are low shrubs from Central and Southern Europe, damask roses that blooms during summer, centifolia which are often called cabbage roses, moss which has mossy appearance of stems and sepals, china roses grown in Asia, Portland roses which have a world class style blossom, bourbon roses that come from the coast of Madagascar  and Indian Ocean, noisette which was a result of hybrid seeding,  tea roses that have species traced from combination of china roses and yellow tea roses, hybrid perpetual that is a dominant class of rose in England, hybrid musk which has rose multiflora as one of its parent and the Bermuda roses that are grown in Bermuda.
